Minister for IT and Industries K T Rama Rao today said that the foundation of the Telangana Public Service Commission (TPSC) was very strong, and that as per the preliminary report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) there was no hacking into its systems.
Speaking at a press conference, Rao said that it was not fair to blame the entire system and the government because of two guilty persons who caused the leak of the question papers.
He said that he could understand the pain of the candidates who needed to appear for the exams again, and said that stringent action would be initiated against those involved in the leak irrespective of their political affiliations. He however urged the youth not to get instigated by the politically motivated comments of a few politicians.
He said that the government was planning to conduct all the exams as early as possible, and that strict measures would be taken to avoid any problems this time.
He added that the candidates who had applied for the previous examinations need not to pay fees again, and could appear for the exams directly.
In addition, the government was planning to provide various additional facilities this time, including uploading of study material onto a website, opening of 24-hour reading rooms in all the districts, distribution of study material, and free meals to candidates at the study centres, he said.
"We are also planning to strengthen the system of the TSPSC by initiating more reforms on the administrative front, and using advanced technology in the conduct of examinations in the days to come," KTR added.
