NREGS (National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme) Minister Dokka Manikya Varaprasad on Monday slammed the appointment of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the head of BJP's election campaign.
Talking to reporters at the Congress Legislature Party office in Hyderabad, Dokka said that India does not need to be converted into a country-sized replica of the Modi-led Gujarat model. Describing Modi as 'Hitler', he said that Modi represents communal hatred and his projection as the national leader would only disturb the communal harmony in the country.
Dokka ridiculed the hype around the development in Gujarat, and claimed that the BJP government had forcibly taken away land from the poor in order to help the industrialists.
The minister said that only the Congress party could provide a stable and secular government in the country and that Rahul Gandhi would be the best person to lead the nation after next elections. (INN)
