Districts Delimitation Will Go On: TRS

Telangana Minister Thummala Nageshwar Rao said that the process of creating new districts would not stop despite the Opposition's protests.
Hyderabad | 11th September 2016
Telangana Roads & Buildings Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao today said that the process of creating new districts would not stop despite the Opposition's protests.

The minister alleged that the Opposition leaders were misguiding the people on the issue of the proposed new districts and hampering the progress of the State. He also slammed the Opposition for hindering every project that the State government took up.

"Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is trying to put a more decentralized system in place. The Centre had recently declared nine out of ten Telangana districts as backward, and offered hundreds of crores of funds for their development. Delimiting the districts will maximize these funds. Why can't the Opposition understand this?" the minister asked. "They have opposed even Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, Mallanna Sagar and other development projects," he lamented.

The new districts would start functioning from Dasara, the minister said.
