Power Minister G Jagadish Reddy today laid the foundation stone for the construction of an electric sub-station at Kallur in Khammam district along with Roads & Buildings Minister Thummala Nageshwar Rao.
Speaking to mediapersons, Reddy alleged that some "criminal elements" in the garb of political leaders were roaming in the villages and blaming the state government for everything.
He also took serious exception to Telangana TDP working president Revanth Reddy's provocative remarks against the ministers and his seeking the resignation of T Harish Rao and Thummala Nageshwar Rao.
He said as the opposition leaders had no work, they were systematically resorting to mudslinging at the government. But the "wise" people in the state were aware that these anti-development leaders were only trying to stall the projects and development works in the state, Reddy said.
"Some leaders like Revanth Reddy are creating obstacles to the government's projects and working as agents of the neighbouring States. The opposition should come up with constructive criticism and suggestions instead of making baseless charges," he said.
Thummala Nageshwar Rao also slammed the opposition leaders for their continuous rhetoric against the government, which was completing the irrigation projects at a feverish pace in order to irrigate one crore acres of land over five years.
"K Chandrashekar Rao proved himself to be a Chief Minister with guts by getting the Land Acquisition Amendment Act approved by the Centre within a week," he said. "And the opposition leaders only try harder to scuttle things."
Rao said that the Chief Minister was now planning to give 24-hour power supply to the agriculture sector. He asserted that the TRS government was of the people, and was giving top priority to their welfare.
