State Minister T G Venkatesh on Thursday proposed that the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly be dissolved, to stop the ongoing process of formation of Telangana state.
Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises here, Venkatesh said that he, along with other leaders, would meet Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, to formally request him to dissolve the Legislative Assembly.
He said that the Telangana process will automatically stop in the absence of the Assembly, and the Centre too will be forced to postpone the bifurcation till after the next elections.
Venkatesh also said that all the leaders, irrespective of their party affiliation, should work together to keep the state united.
Stating that the Rayalaseema region was the most backward in the state, he said that development of all regions will be possible only in a united AP.
Venkatesh also announced his support for the Chalo Delhi call given by APNGOs chief Ashok Babu. (INN)
