Governor E S L Narasimhan today extended invitations to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu to attend a dinner party being accorded by him in honour of President Pranab Mukherjee upon the latter's arrival at Raj Bhavan, on June 30 at 7 pm.
The Governor asked the two Telugu states' Chief Ministers to turn up for the important program along with their spouses.
As expected, Naidu, who already skipped joining Narasimhan, KCR and officials to welcome the President upon his arrival in Hyderabad on Monday afternoon, is most likely to refrain from attending the Tuesday event at Raj Bhavan, too.
Being at loggerheads with KCR to an unprecedented degree and to avoid the inevitable embarrassment given he is unofficially the prime accused in the note-for-vote case that is bleeding the Telugu Desam Party government in AP, Naidu is to avoid this event, it is learnt.
Narasimhan also forwarded invitations to the Union ministers in Hyderabad and ministers of the two states.
The dinner is to honour the President who is to stay for 10 days in Rashtrapati Bhavan in Bollaram. (NSS)
