Telangana Deputy Speaker and former minister Padma Rao Goud has tested positive for the coronavirus.
According to reports, four of his family members, including two grandchildren, too, tested positive.
The virus is spreading among leaders who visited virus-affected areas, it appears. Goud had toured several localities in his Secunderabad constituency to provide help to the affected people.
Goud and his family are under home quarantine and are being treated by doctors at his residence near Monda Market.
Yesterday, Home Minister Mahmood Ali too had
tested positive for the virus. He is being offered treatment at Apollo hospital in the city.
Other TRS leaders who tested positive include
Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy, Ganesh Guptha and Bajureddy Govardhan, all MLAs.
