Five BRS MLAs from Medchal district launched a tirade against Minister for Labour Ch Malla Reddy.
BRS MLAs Bethi Subhash Reddy (Uppal), Madhavaram Krishna Rao (Kukatpally), Arikepudi Gandhi (Serilingampally) and Vivekananda (Quthbullapur) held a meeting at the residence of Malkajgiri MLA Mynampalli Hanumantha Rao, and expressed their resentment over the attitude of Malla Reddy, who they claimed was giving all nominated posts only to his loyalists.
Speaking to the media, Hanumantha Rao said that even though Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had advised Malla Reddy to work together with them, the minister was not changing his attitude, and was taking unilateral decisions in the appointments to nominated posts without consulting the local MLAs of the district.
"Posts are being repeatedly offered to those who already enjoyed power previously. No protocol is being followed. While the minister's supporters are enjoying three to four posts, what about the situation of rest of the cadre in other Assembly segments?" Rao asked.
He added that he was speaking to the media to take up the problems of the cadre to the notice of the Chief Minister. "If everyone maintains silence, how can Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao get to know the problems?" Rao said.
Quthbullapur MLA Vivekananda said that the meeting was held to discuss the problems of the party cadre, and that it should not be considered as a revolt against the party leadership.
"Our cadre feel that they are being denied nominated posts and meted out injustice. We will definitely take this matter to the notice of the party leadership, and will discuss the loopholes in the party," Vivekananda said.
