Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Saturday came down heavily on the previous BRS government, alleging that democracy was murdered in its tenure.
Participating in the debate on the motion of thanks for the Governor's speech in the Telangana Assembly, the CM severely criticised the BRS rule of the last ten years, and said that the voices of the people were suppressed during that period, to the extent that even the Dharna Chowk was removed.
He also alleged that the BRS had failed to give even the minimum respect to the families of the martyrs of the statehood movement, and that even the respect given to the defectors of the party was not given to the families of the martyrs.
He said that the people of Telangana saw that the BRS cared for nothing except the family that ran it, and that the verdict of the people in the recent elections was basically a vote against that family.
He reiterated that the six guarantees made by the Congress would be implemented without fail. He also said that the State government was ready to listen to the problems of the people, and that it would work as per the aspirations of the people.
