Delhi HC Asks Revanth Reddy To File Fresh Petition Against BRS
The Telangana Congress president had approached the court objecting to the decision of the Election Commission to change the name of the erstwhile TRS to BRS.
The Delhi High Court, which heard a petition filed by TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy objecting to the decision of the Election Commission to change the name of the erstwhile TRS to BRS, allowed him to file a fresh petition in the case.
It asked Reddy to file separate cases against the departments against whose actions he had objections.
Reddy had filed a case against the TRS against its Bangaru Kooli program, and the inquiry of the income tax department is still pending in the case. Reddy lodged a complaint with the EC asking it to not entertain the application of the TRS to change its name to BRS till his case was disposed of. The EC had asked general public to submit their objections, if any, over the proposed change of the name of the TRS before December 6, 2022, and Reddy had responded to the notice of the Commission and submitted his objections. However, the EC still approved the application of the TRS and allowed the latter to change its name to BRS, prompting Reddy to approach the Delhi High Court.
