Vanitha Reddy, wife of deceased Tollywood comedian Vijay Sai, today surrendered before the Jubilee Hills police.
She had gone into hiding soon after the death of her husband, and had created a sensation by soon releasing intimate pictures of him with another woman.
Speaking to media persons, Reddy said that she had surrendered before the police upon receiving a notice from them. She also claimed that she was facing severe harassment from her in-laws after the death of her husband.
When asked why she had kept herself away from the police investigation, she said that she had done so in order to stay out of the media glare and to obtain evidence which she would present before the police.
It may be recalled that Vijay Sai had committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his flat in Yousufguda on December 11. Hours before the suicide, Vijay had shot a selfie video in which he alleged that his wife, along with her lawyer, had been mentally torturing him for money. He also urged his father to teach a fitting lesson to them.
A few days after the suicide, Vanitha tried to defend herself by releasing a selfie video herself from an undisclosed location. She then leaked two intimate pictures of Vijay with an unknown woman to news channels.
