D Srinivas' Son Sanjay Granted Bail

Former Nizamabad Mayor D Sanjay, the son of TRS MP D Srinivas, heaved a sigh of relief after he was given bail in the nursing students' sexual harassment case today.

The district court granted conditional bail to Sanjay - he was asked to report to the police station every Monday and Thursday.

Sanjay, who was confined to the district jail for the last 18 days as a remand prisoner, will come out on Friday.

For the uninitiated, Rajya Sabha member D Srinivas approached the Hyderabad High Court challenging the police remand of Sanjay in the sexual harassment case against the latter. In his petition, DS mentioned that the Telangana government hadn't prepared a police manual yet though the state had been created four years ago, and the Telangana government was following the Andhra Pradesh Police Manual.
