Dubbing the removal of D L Ravindra Reddy from the State Cabinet as being unfortunate, Rajya Sabha MP Palvai Govardhan Reddy, on Sunday, criticised Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for taking the decision in anger.
Talking to reporters in Hyderabad, Palvai said that it was not in the traditions of the Congress Government to sack ministers, although it was okay to let the ministers resign by themselves. He said that a wrong approach had been adopted in removing Ravindra Reddy from the post.
Govardhan Reddy also said that the decision was unilateral, and that D L was not even served a show-cause notice to enable him to explain his version.
Speaking about the two Congress MPs who had quit the party to join TRS, he said that the decision was taken in haste. Govardhan Reddy claimed that the Congress High Command had agreed to table the Telangana Bill in the Parliament, on July 5.
Palvai admitted that the Congress has lost its ground in the Seemandhra region to the YSR Congress party and to the rapidly proliferating "Jagan mania". Similarly, the TRS has become stronger in the Telangana region due to the Congress' delay in taking a decision on the statehood issue. (INN)
