In a bid to publicise the state government's welfare programs, Information And Public Relations Minister D K Aruna launched her bus yatra in Mahabubnagar, on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Aruna said that the 7-day-long bus yatra is aimed at strengthening the party. She said that she would apprise the common people about the various welfare schemes being implemented by the government. She said that the bus yatra would cover the entire district in the next week.
Referring to reports of Nagarkurnool MP Manda Jagannatham joining the TRS, Aruna stated that she advises those planning to leave the Congress to do at the earliest, "asking" them not to cause damage to the party before they go.
Addressing the gathering, MLC Mohammad Ali Shabbir claimed that several welfare schemes were being implemented by both the central and the state governments. He said that irrespective of political circumstance and individuals on power, these welfare and development schemes would continue to be implemented as long as the Congress remains in power.
He recalled that the government had introduced the SC-ST sub-plan for the focussed development of these communities. Further, he said that several schemes, including the one involving a 4% reservation for Muslims, were being implemented by the state government.
