Hyderabad is all set to host India's biggest ever vaccination drive.
The city, which has earned the moniker of the vaccine capital of the world, will hold the immunisation program at the Hitex Exhibition Grounds, in Madhapur this Sunday (June 6).
Currently, speeding up the Covid-19 vaccination drive is perhaps at the top of every government's to-do list as this, it is felt, is the most effective and fastest way of dealing with the ongoing pandemic.
It is with this objective that the program is being held. A record number of 40,000 people, it is expected, will be inoculated on Sunday. The program is being organised by the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate and the Society for Cyberabad Security Council in association with the Medicover Group of Hospitals.
The drive will begin at 8:00 am and will go on till 9:00 pm, and will have 500 counters so that people do not have to wait for long hours in endless queues. Different time slots will be allocated throughout the day to those wanting to get vaccinated.
Every precaution to keep attendees safe will be taken. Measures will be taken to ensure the practice of social distancing norms as well.
Pre-registered beneficiaries can walk in, scan a QR code and proceed to take the injection. However, only Covaxin will be available at the drive. All those above 18 will be eligible to take the vaccine.
Those willing to get vaccinated must register themselves
