Lashing out at the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) State Secretary B V Raghavulu for his failure to raise the issues faced by the people from Telangana, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday said that this was reflective of the CPM's negligent attitude towards the region.
The TRS Chief stated that the CPM State Secretary did not hesitate to stage dharnas or protest in favour of any public issue, and against the government of the day, but it had conveniently neglected Miryalguda's problems.
Speaking at a function to welcome CPM members into the TRS fold at the TRS Bhavan, KCR pointed out at the problem of increased fluoride content in the water in Nalgonda district, where an estimated 1.5 lakh children have been affected. He said that Miryalguda in Nalgonda had elected Jullakanti Rangareddy of the CPM, and the party had failed to raise the issue of the increased fluoride content in the water at any appropriate forum.
The TRS Chief also called on other CPM members to leave the party and join the Telangana protagonists, he said that Sunday's 'mini-exodus' of the CPM party workers joining the TRS fold was the beginning of a 'golden period'.
Besides, Raghavulu's indefinite hunger strike, which began on Thursday, has garnered the support of various opposition leaders.
