Communist Party of India (CPI) State Secretary K Narayana on Tuesday stated that 2 representatives from his party would attend the crucial all-party conclave on January 6th in New Delhi to discuss the Justice Srikrishna Commission Report before it was made public.
Speaking to media persons, Narayana said that the CPI had no plans to follow the example of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who had boycotted the crucial conclave. The TRS has boycotted the meeting saying that multiple representatives would mean the emerging of divergent views on the issue of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
The BJP, however, said that the conclave and the report itself were redundant, and had reminded that it had opposed the Srikrishna Panel itself.
Narayana revealed that he had received the invitation from Union Home Minister P Chidambaram. Chidambaram also refused the CPI's request for a copy of the much-awaited report.
