CPI Releases Manifesto For Telangana

The party also stated that the seat-sharing pact between the CPI and Congress was yet to be formalised.
Hyderabad | 3rd April 2014
The Communist Party of India (CPI) State Secretary K Narayana on Thursday released his party's manifesto for Telangana for the ensuing general elections.

Speaking to media persons after releasing the manifesto, Narayana said that the CPI's manifesto focuses on the overall development of the new State with special emphasis on distribution of land among the poor, housing schemes benefiting all sections of the society, augmentation of drinking water resources, improvement in irrigation facilities, eradication of unemployment, poverty alleviation, equal opportunities for all and steps to curb communalism.

Narayana also stated that the seat-sharing pact between the CPI and Congress was yet to be formalised. He hoped that the Congress-CPI alliance would win the next elections in Telangana.

He also slammed cine actors Pawan Kalyan and Nagarjuna for meeting BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

Alleging that Modi's hands were stained with the blood of innocents, he said by meeting a communal leader, the actors were sending a wrong signal among the people that the film industry too was divided on communal lines. (INN)
