CPI Men Stage Half-Naked Protest Over MLA Defections
CPI activists led by K Narayana staged a half-naked protest condemning the TRS for encouraging the defections of MLAs from the Congress and other parties.
Activists of the CPI on Friday staged a half-naked protest condemning the "undemocratic" attitude of the TRS in encouraging defections of MLAs from the Congress and other parties.
CPI national secretary K Narayana and former Rajya Sabha MP Aziz Pasha also took part in the protest.
Speaking on the occasion, Narayana demanded that the TRS immediately stop wooing MLAs from the other parties in the state.
Narayana also accused the defecting MLAs of cheating the people of their respective constituencies in a shameless manner.
He said that those who "sold" their constituencies' people would not hesitate to sell their own family members as well.
He also claimed that the people of the State would spontaneously act against the government if there were no Opposition parties to do that.
Joining a chorus of leaders of Opposition parties, Narayana too said that KCR had a lot to learn from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who was much younger to him (KCR).
Meanwhile, the local police arrested the CPI leaders when they tried to go towards the Ambedkar statue at Tank Bund. They were whisked away to different police stations in the city.
