The CBI special court at Nampally, on Friday, allowed Jagathi Publications vice-chairman Vijay Sai Reddy to go on a 6-day pilgrimage.
The special court, while giving its approval for the pilgrimage, asked Vijay Sai Reddy to inform the CBI about the schedule of his pilgrimage, which is set for 13 - 20 June.
Earlier, in a petition filed before the court, Vijay Sai Reddy, the second accused in Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's disproportionate assets case, stated that he needs to go to Tirupati and Shirdi for 6 days on a pilgrimage, and sought the court's permission to leave the city.
The court, after hearing the arguments of his counsel, directed the CBI to file a counter-petition in this regard. The CBI, in its counter-petition, said that it has no objection to Vijay Sai Reddy going on the pilgrimage.
With the CBI not raising any objection, the court permitted Vijay Sai Reddy go on a pilgrimage. (INN)
