NGO Youth For Anti-Corruption today released a survey on the performance of the government employees of the two Telugu states, and the corruption among them.

The survey findings were announced by V V Lakshmi Narayana, a former Joint Director of the CBI.

The survey asked 21,000 people to rate the work of government employees and the corruption in the various departments.

Over a hundred volunteers of Youth For Anti-Corruption took part in the massive survey, informed Rajendra Palnati, Founder, Youth For Anti-Corruption.

Revealing the findings of the survey, Narayana said that corruption was rampant in the Telugu states, with 90% of respondents confirming that they encountered corruption.

Revenue and police are among the departments where corruption thrives the most, according to the survey. In general, it is in departments which have high public interaction that corruption flourishes.

The broker system was the main reason for corruption to flourish, 92% of respondents said.

92% of the respondents also expressed unhappiness with the working style of the government staff.

Only 20% of respondents said that government offices had any honest people at all.

Most of the respondents also said that they had no confidence in the anti-corruption agencies and vigilance authorities.

Narayana lauded the efforts of the NGO saying that it was working hard to eliminate corruption from the society.

He urged the people to come forward and report it to the anti-corruption officials if a bribe was sought for any official work at government offices.
