The Telangana government has intensified measures to check the spread of the coronavirus as the cases in the state have reached 154.
27 more tested positive today, taking the number up steeply.
9 infected persons have died so far, and 14 have been discharged.
In a video conference with the Chief Ministers that Prime Minister Narendra Modi held, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao informed the PM about the measures being taken in the state to prevent the coronavirus spread.
He urged Modi for speedy supply of equipment, ventilators and medicines.
Later, KCR asked officials at a high-level meeting to be more alert to check the virus' spread. And the government may continue the lockdown beyond April 15 to contain the problem, it is being said.
The Chief Minister also appealed once again to the people to avoid coming out and stay at their homes.
