Alleging that the Nalgonda SP was lying in the case of the murder of Nalgonda Municipal chairperson Boddupalli Lakshmi's husband Boddupalli Srinivas, Congress senior leader V Hanumantha Rao said that the former was following the orders of his higher authorities rather than his oath of duty.
Speaking to the media at the Assembly media hall on Monday, VHR asked if murders took place due to just "mirchi bandi" squabbles. The police were just lip-syncing to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, son K T Rama Rao and daughter K Kavitha, he said, and alleged that the police had became "statues" in the state.
There would be no surprise if the government tomorrow killed TJAC Chairman Kodandaram, too, he said, and demanded that the government provide protection to all leaders facing threats. The state was number one in murders, he claimed.
On another topic, he said that KTR didn't get an invitation to Davos but just went along with the Prime Minister's team.
MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy said that he was ready to go to jail if the TRS government carried out its threat of jailing anyone who criticized it. He alleged that organized and state-sponsored attacks were taking place on Opposition leaders, and demanded that the government hand over the Boddupalli Srinivas case to an SIT.
