Former PCC president M Satyanarayana Rao on Friday "warned" the Congress against any delay in the formation of a separate Telangana state.
Talking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan after participating in the party's formation day celebrations, MSR said that "while Seemandhra leaders misled the Congress High Command", Telangana Congress MPs have failed to impress upon the Centre the importance of the Telangana issue". However, he warned that the Congress would be wiped out of the region if it delays the decision on the statehood issue further.
The former PCC chief also condemned pro-Telangana leaders for provoking youth over the statehood issue and driving several to suicide. He said those lives could have been saved if the leaders had behaved more responsibly. (INN)
