TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud today announced that the Telangana Congress would celebrate Sonia Gandhi's birthday on December 9 in a grand manner across the State.
Speaking at a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, he said that Telangana could not be imagined without the support of Sonia Gandhi, and that she would forever remain in the State's history as a beloved icon.
The fact that the Congress had enormous respect for Telangana's cultural heritage was also reflected in its Telangana Talli statue initiative, he claimed.
Goud also took the opportunity to highlight the Congress government's achievements, especially focusing on its claim of creating over 55,000 jobs in just one year - something he said the BRS government failed to achieve in a decade.
Claiming that the Congress delivered more development in one year than the BRS did in ten years, he criticized the "inefficiency" of the erstwhile BRS government.
Accusing BRS Working President K T Rama Rao of arrogance despite losing power and calling out his "unrealistic ambitions", the TPCC President asked what sacrifices had been made by KTR and Kavitha for Telangana.
Goud also alleged that the family of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had amassed immense wealth, labelling them the "most corrupt family in the country".
He also claimed that freedom in Telangana had been curtailed under the BRS, but that it would thrive under the Congress.
"The people of Telangana have rejected the BRS' decade-long autocratic rule and entrusted Congress with the responsibility of restoring democracy, development and dignity in the State," Goud said.
The TPCC President also ridiculed Telangana BJP President and Union Minister Kishan Reddy, calling him "Kismath Reddy", and said the BJP had no right to speak about the poor.
He also condemned the inappropriate language used by BRS MLA Kaushik Reddy, and warned of action against attempts to disturb law and order.
