Protesting the hostile attitude of the TRS government towards farmers, the Telangana Congress organized a Maha Dharna at Nizamabad on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Congress leaders demanded that the government announce a list of drought-affected mandals immediately and initiate steps to implement the loan waiver scheme.
They advised the government that there was no need for the Water Grid Project and the completion of the Pranahitha-Chevella project would be enough.
Alleging that the change in design of the Pranahitha-Chevella project was only to benefit the foreign companies, they warned the government that they would obstruct the Pranahitha-Chevella project at Kaleswaram by staging dharnas if the design were tampered with.
TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Congress Party Kisan Keth State president M Kodanda Reddy, former minister Sudarshan Reddy, former Speaker K R Suresh Reddy, MLC Akula Lalitha, former MLA Anil Kumar Eravatri and others participated in the Maha Dharna.
