Congress To Stage Dharna Against Sonia Being Summoned By ED

Congress leader and party senior vice-president Mallu Ravi today alleged that the Narendra Modi government at the Centre was conspiring to put the Gandhi and the Nehru families to difficulties.

Talking to mediapersons, Ravi said that the Modi government, acting in vengeance against the families, had revived old cases struck down by the ED, and was causing mental torture to the family memmbers.

He said that the Gandhi and the Nehru families were known for sacrifices, and had served the country without aspiring for money and posts. However, the Modi government, in the name of ED inquiries, was harassing those very families.

He however asserted that no one could harm the Congress or the Gandhi family with cheap and arm-twisting practices.

Claiming that Sonia Gandhi had fulfilled the aspirations of the Telangana people for a separate State, Ravi called upon them to stand by her in the present circumstances apolitically.

He added that all the people of the country should in fact rise and condemn the vindictive action being taken by the BJP government against the Gandhi family members.

Ravi said that in the wake of the ED summons to Sonia Gandhi to attend its office for an inquiry on July 21, the Congress would take out a rally from the Indira Gandhi statue on the Necklace Road to the ED office where it would stage a dharna.

TPCC president Revanth Reddy and all important party leaders would participate in the dharna, he said.
