No Public Issues At Cong Meet: BJP
Dattatreyya said that the Congress party has been facing rejection across the state, and its existence in the state would be in danger after the 2014 elections.
BJP senior leader Bandaru Dattatreyya has described the Congress party's state-level convention as an event organised to shower praises on Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
Addressing a press conference at BJP's State Headquarters at Nampally, Dattatreyya said that the Congress party had failed to discuss any public issue during the convention. Issues like suicides by farmers, Telangana statehood and even the devastation caused due to cyclone Nilam did not figure prominently during the convention. He also dubbed Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad's speech as a 'political joke'.
Dattatreyya said that the Congress party has been facing rejection across the state, and its existence in the state would be in danger after the 2014 elections. Alleging that the Congress party was yet to free itself from the clutches of MIM, he said that it appears as though Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was giving more publicity to MIM than it deserves.
The BJP leader alleged that FDI in retail would lead to unemployment besides causing damage to small businesses. He said that other schemes of the Congress party including cash-transfer have been designed to benefit the Congress workers. (INN)
