MLC Dilip Kumar on Sunday demanded that the State Legislative Council wind up debate on State Reorganisation Bill by January 23, and send it to the Centre with its views.
Participating in the debate on the Telangana Bill in the Council, Dilip Kumar said that the Hyderabad state was already developed much before the formation of Andhra Pradesh.
Therefore, he said that the claim of Seemandhra people that they brought about development to Hyderabad is wrong.
He also described the tales of "atrocities by the Nizam government" as false and baseless.
Dilip Kumar condemned the tearing and burning of copies of the draft Telangana Bill.
He also demanded that Hyderabad be made the joint capital of both the states only for a period of 2 years and not 10 years as proposed in the Bill.
Further, he added that the High Court should be separated for both the states immediately after the formation of Telangana state.
He "suggested" that the Seemandhra leaders should focus on building their new capital and leave Telangana at the earliest. (INN)
