Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao today directed the officials concerned to expedite the completion of the ongoing and pending works in the rural areas of the state.
Speaking at a review meeting on the matter of rural development, Rao emphasised the need to focus on ensuring the implementation of the Palle Pragati program, on greenery expansion and on basic amenities' provision.
"We must work towards providing the rural populace of the state with a high quality of life. Water supply, sanitation and power should no longer be areas of concern for them. Complete all the pending sewage system works as well. Nobody should have to complain about any of these services. We must work together to give our villages the facelift that they need," he said.
Rao also enquired about the progress of the various developmental works that had been undertaken by the government.
"As per the directions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the rural development works should be taken up on a war – footing, and should be completed at the earliest for the benefit of the rural people. Our government is deeply committed to developing the infrastructure in the villages as this will bring true, holistic and inclusive development to the state. We should be inspired by this, and work to bring progress to our villages," he said.
"The CM appreciated our department for our efforts to develop the countryside. During his meeting with the state's district Collectors at the Pragathi Bhavan, he also praised us for the progress of the rural projects thus far. Let us ensure that we can keep working with the same commitment in the future, too," he added.
The TRS regime has taken up various innovative rural developmental projects in the past. Recently, E Dayakar Rao urged the farmers of the state to
adopt the practice of vermiculture, saying that this would not only benefit the farmers economically, but would also help the planet.
