Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today visited Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district's Vasalamarri village as part of his ongoing tour of various districts in the state.
While there, he attended a lunch event organised for about 3,000 villagers and spoke to them about the problems they were facing. He also performed special prayers at Kodanda Ramalayam after his arrival.
Later, while touring the village, the CM announced that his government would develop Vasalamarri and equip the region with various facilities. He stated that Rs 25 lakh each would be given to the 421 gram Panchayats in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district and that Rs 1 crore would be given to the six municipalities of the district.
After appointing district Collector Pamela Satpathy as the special officer for the development of the village, KCR added that an action plan would be made to provide help to every household in the area.
"The funds that our government will provide to the village will be used for roads improvement, re-greening efforts, and the development of water and power supply projects. A community hall, as well as health and education facilities, will be developed in the village. I urge the farmers here to form a village committee so that they can have a platform through which to air their grievances. The village must become a developmental model, similar to Ankapur village, for other rural areas. It would be beneficial for the locals to form a development committee to oversee the aforementioned developmental programs. Subsequently, committees to manage the sanitation, environmental and other issues in Vasalamarri should also be established," he told the villagers.
The CM then assured the locals that he would visit Vasalamarri frequently, saying that the residents of the area were his family.
