HMWSSB's Prajavaani program provides a platform to the city's residents to voice their civic issues.
As many as 59 of the 139 complaints received by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) during its weekly 'Prajavaani' program were solved on the spot, while the rest would be solved soon, stated HMWSSB's Chief General Manager (Engg) D Sundar Rami Reddy on Monday.
Sundar Rami Reddy said that the main objective of the 'Praja Vaani' program is to act as a bridge between the consumers and the Water Board by facilitating direct interaction between top officials and the consumers, so that their woes could be redressed at the earliest.
Of the 139 complaints received, the Khairtabad Board office received 62, 36 of which were resolved on the spot, while the Gosha Mahal office received 24 complaints.
The complaints were received from the concerned 14 Operation and Maintenance division offices on Monday from all parts of GHMC areas such as Gosha Mahal, Red Hills, Narayanguda, SR Nagar, NTR Nagar, IDPL, Sainikpuri, Chandanagar and Budvel (Rajendranagar).
Sundar Rami Reddy revealed that most of the complaints were regarding billing disputes, one time settlement, new water connections, change of name, metering disputes and drainage problems.
The Prajavaani Program is now organised in all Operation and Maintenance Divisions for the convenience of the public. A senior officer in the cadre of Director / Chief General Manager (E) attend the Prajavaani Program along with the concerned General Manager (Engg) of O and M Division at division level.
At head office, apart from Sundar Rami Reddy, General Manager (Engg) S Anand Swaroop and General (Revenue) Ravinder Reddy conducted the program.
At divisional level, concerned General Manager (Engg) undertook the Prajavaani program.
