Strict Norms For New Year Celebrations
The Commissioner convened a meeting with the management of star hotels functioning in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad to discuss issues relating to the security, traffic management and other issues.

City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma on Tuesday warned the management of star hotels of stern action if they violate any rules on the eve of Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The Commissioner convened a meeting with the management of star hotels functioning in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad to discuss issues relating to the security, traffic management and other issues in connection with the ensuing Christmas and New Year celebrations in their respective hotel premises.
The management’s representatives were apprised with the dos and don’ts to be observed during the celebrations, such as ensuring invitees to the hotel in accordance with their capacity, providing adequate security guards inside their establishments for proper security and systematic parking arrangements, maintaining decency and orderliness during the celebrations, sound levels to be maintained at 45 decibles, not allowing any fire arms in the premises, special valet parking arrangements to be made, not allowing minors in programs organized for couples, liquor should not be served to the minors, keeping ready firefighting equipment and ensuring free entry and exit place for the easy evacuation of the premises in the case of any eventuality.
In addition to this, they have been asked to procure breathalyzers and check their clients while leaving the premises, and if found to have consumed excess alcohol, make necessary arrangements for them to reach their destinations safely by providing designated drivers, drivers / cabs, to educate their bouncers and other staff members to be polite and courteous with the invitees so that there will be no altercation during the celebrations.
The managements have been strictly warned against use of drugs or narcotics and psychotropic substances in the party, and if the managements fails to prevent this and the above mentioned advisories, will be viewed seriously and penal action will be taken against the managements in addition to taking necessary action for cancellation of their licenses. Posters of “Don’t drink and Drive” and “Drunk driving is an offence” and advisory note have been provided to them to be displayed at their premises during the celebrations.
The managements have responded positively and extended their assurance in making the celebrations peaceful. (INN)
