In reaction to the bomb blasts at Dilsukhnagar on 21 February, Commissioner Anurag Sharma has directed all licensees and owners of shopping complexes, malls, star hotels and other big establishments to take precautions.
In reaction to the bomb blasts at Dilsukhnagar on 21 February and the existing security environment in the city, City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma directed all licensees of cinema theatres located in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, and owners / managements of shopping complexes, malls, star hotels, lodges, other big establishments, entertainment hubs, and large government-owned and private buildings to take precautions.
The Commissioner directed them to install door-frame metal detectors at all the access / entrance points of theatres, shopping complexes, malls, star hotels, lodges, other big establishments, entertainment hubs, and large government-owned and private buildings. Wherever such metal detectors are already installed, it should be ensured that they function effectively. They have been asked to install close circuit TVs for observing and recording suspicious movements / activities, the recordings of which have to be kept in safe custody for a minimum period of one month.
They will have to ensure thorough checking of cinema halls between one show and another to prevent suspicious objects if any being left by any one which could be detrimental to the safety and security of the audience. They have also been ordered to ensure thorough frisking of each and every person and baggage at the access points of the theatres, shopping complexes, malls, star hotels, lodges, other big establishments, entertainment hubs, and large government-owned and private buildings.
All the owners / managements of the theatres, shopping complexes, malls, star hotels, lodges, other big establishments, entertainment hubs, and large government-owned and private buildings should also ensure that no four wheelers, three wheelers, two wheelers and cycles are parked in front of their establishments.
They will have to provide a cloak-room for depositing belongings / bags, which are not required to be taken inside the theatres, shopping complexes, malls, star hotels, lodges, other big establishments, entertainment hubs, and large government-owned and private buildings.
The management should also engage a sufficient number of security staff for checking and frisking for dangerous materials at the entrances / access points. The City Police will train the personnel engaged by the management on request.
All owners / managements of theatres, shopping complexes, malls, star hotels, lodges, other big establishments, entertainment hubs, and large government-owned and private buildings will open a register for checking point note book in the format supplied by the local police.
These orders have come into force with immediate effect. (INN)
