AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi today strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where The Resistance Front (a shadow group of the banned Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba) assailants shot dead 27 (as per the latest report) civilians.
Speaking to the media, Owaisi said, "Terrorists killed innocent people after asking their religion in Pahalgam. We strongly condemn this incident. We hope the government will take strict action against these terrorists. We stand in solidarity with the affected families and pray for the swift recovery of the injured."
He said that the attack was even more reprehensible than previous terror incidents in Uri and Pulwama, as the assailants, reportedly infiltrators from across the border, deliberately targeted unarmed civilians and tourists.
Owaisi also described the attack as a serious security lapse. "This is also an intelligence failure. We demand that the Modi government fix responsibility and take concrete steps to prevent such attacks in the future. The Modi government should also re-evaluate its deterrence policy," he said.
