CM Reviews Vijayawada Issues
MPs, MLAs, public representatives and senior officials bring to the notice of the CM the pending issues of the area.

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Tuesday, assured he would solve all pending problems of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation areas, at a meeting with MPs, MLAs, public representatives and senior officials at the state Secretariat.
Secondary Education Minister K Parthasarathy, Lok Sabha member Lagadapati Rajgopal, former minister Devineni Nehru, MLAs Malladi Vishnu, V Srinivasa Rao and Yalamanchili Ravi, MLC Ilapuram Venkaiah, and senior officials attended the meeting.
The leaders brought to the notice of the CM the pending issues of the area, including funds requirement for the work already completed under JNNURM, restoration of roads damaged due to sewerage work, the release of the state government's share due to the cost enhancement in the housing scheme, the acquisition of Gollapudi land under a 60:40 ratio for left-over JNNURM/RAY (Rajiv Awaaz Yojana) projects, and the escalation cost of ULB's share from the A P State Housing Corporation under Urban Indiramma.
The CM directed the finance department to release the urgently-required funds for the completed works after due inspection, and also to initiate action to acquire the Gollapudi land under a 60:40 ratio, which would help farmers as well as the government.
Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Commissioner G Ravi Babu said that due to a paucity of funds under JNNRUM, new proposals were made in the 3 constituencies for the restoration of roads badly-damaged to a total length of 46.90 kms, under which the underground drainage and water supply lines are laid. These works were not taken up due to the non-availability of funds under JNNURM.
The public representatives requested the CM to release Rs. 25.40 crores to Vijayawada Municipal Corporation as a special grant for the early completion of the restoration of the remaining roads. The CM assured them thathe would release the urgently required funds. (INN)
