On Wednesday, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy asked the Industries Department to send the government of India the approved proposals for the establishment of the National Investment And Manufacturing Zones (NIMZ) in Medak and Chittoor districts.
The Chief Minister said that the "Expression of Interest" should also be called for simultaneously. He directed that the proposal for the final sanction of the establishment of NIMZ in Prakasam district must also be sent immediately.
Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Wednesday, reviewed the progress in the process of establishment of the three NIMZ units in Medak, Chittoor and Prakasam districts. To this end, he held discussions with ministers and higher officials at the Secretariat.
He approved the delineated site for the construction of the Medak NIMZ (an area which measures around 12,635 acres). Four new Land Acquisition Units (2 for each of the NIMZs) were also approved.
The Chief Minister also assured that the budgetary requirements of the project will be fulfilled by the government, and that an IAS officer will also be appointed to oversee the establishment of the three NIMZ units in the state.
Major Industries minister Dr. Geetha Reddy, Chief Secretary Dr. P K Mohanty, Principal Secretary (Industries) Pradeep Chandra, Principal Secretary (Finance) V Bhasker, APIIC MD Jayesh Ranjan and other officials attended the meeting. (INN)
