The Congress High Command, on Friday, gave clear indications that the expansion or reshuffling of the state Cabinet might not happen soon.
In a press statement after emerging out of talks with the Congress, on Friday in New Delhi, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, and Congress In-Charge of State Affairs and Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, stated that the Cabinet's expansion might not happen soon.
Ghulam Nabi Azad informed the press that Sonia Gandhi and her political secretary Ahmed Patel discussed the latest political situation in Andhra Pradesh with CM Kiran Kumar Reddy during their meeting.
However, he said, the Cabinet reshuffle or expansion was not discussed in the talks.
According to sources, the Congress High Command has advised the Chief Minister to wait a while longer to expand his Cabinet.
He, reportedly, was advised to focus on the possible by-elections for 24 seats, of which 16 are likely to fall vacant due to the possible disqualification of Congress MLAs who defected to the YSR Congress Party. (INN)
