Senior leaders of the Congress party on Sunday called up Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana to enquire about the incidents of
violence by Samaikyandhra activists in Vizianagaram.
The leaders, including AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh, Union minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Sonia Gandhi's political advisor Ahmed Patel, spoke to Botsa about incidents in Vizianagaram, in which his properties were damaged by Samaikyandhra activists.
They also enquired about the latest situation in the Seemandhra region after the Union Cabinet's decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh to carve out Telangana.
It may be mentioned here that a curfew has been impose in Vizianagaram, and shoot-at-sight orders issued, following incidents of violence in Vizianagaram, the native place of the PCC chief, on Saturday.
Besides attacking the properties of Botsa and his family members, activists resorted to large-scale arson, looting and violence at several places. (INN)
