Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will launch a wet run of the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation (PRLI) scheme on September 16.
The CM held a review meeting on the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation (PRLI) project with ministers and MLAs belonging to Mahabubnagar and Rangareddy districts at the Secretariat on Wednesday and took the decision in this regard.
The CM will perform special pujas first and will then switch on the pumps at the Narlapur Intake.
As part of the wet run, water will be pumped into the Narlapur reservoir which is 2 km away.
To mark the occasion, a huge public meeting has been organised in Mahabubnagar district on that day. Village presidents, elected representatives and people in large numbers from the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district will attend the public meeting.
On September 17, the sarpanches and people of Mahabubnagar and Rangareddy districts will take the waters of the Krishna river to their respective villages and perform abhishekham with them at the feet of the local deities.
