Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy formally inaugurated the Mahatma Gandhi Inner Ring Road, Phases I and II, Guntur (Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali, Mangalagiri Urban Development Authority's road, VGTMUDA) at the camp office this afternoon.
The VGTMUDA has taken up the development of the 80-feet-wide Inner Ring Road to Guntur in a phased manner. The first and second phases of this road were completed with an estimated cost of Rs. 29.08 crores, with a length of 6.34 kms and the width of a four-lane carriage way.
As a result of the completion of this road, traffic congestion will ease up in the core city of Guntur.
VGTMUDA chairman M Srinivasa Reddy, ministers Pithani Satyanarayana, Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy, MLC Ilapuram Venkayya, Special Officer Usha Kumari and other officials and non-officials were also present. (INN)
