The Telugu film industry (colloquially referred to as Tollywood) has been facing severe difficulties for the past few days due to the ongoing strike by Film Federation workers. As a result, the shooting of several films has come to a halt. Despite multiple rounds of talks between producers and workers, no resolution has been reached.
In this context, reports suggest that senior and influential actor "Megastar" Chiranjeevi has stepped in to help resolve the issue.
Producer C Kalyan, along with several other industry figures, met Chiranjeevi and explained the situation to him.
"We met Chiranjeevi today. He has been following up with us to find a solution. Producers are also in deep trouble. Small producers are suffering the most. The federation workers are scheduled to meet Chiranjeevi on Monday. He assured us that he would speak to the workers on our behalf," Kalyan said.
Kalyan said that he shared his practical experience and concerns with Chiranjeevi, who he described as a leader seeking justice for both sides. He also said that producers need to all come together to convince the workers.
He added that Film Chamber President Bharat Bhushan was also working towards a resolution.
Kalyan also said that, as per the Labour Commissioner's Record Rules, certain restrictions applied to film work during the strike, and expressed hope that the issue would be resolved soon.
