Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) president K Chiranjeevi on Thursday stated that his party would play a constructive role, and offer full cooperation and support to the new Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.
Briefing media persons after convening an emergency party meeting to discuss the latest political developments in the state at party office in Jubilee Hills, the PRP chief said that he had no differences with the new Chief Minister.
Chiranjeevi said that he would extend his unstinted support to Kiran Kumar Reddy so that the new government would work for the people in a cooperative and constructive manner.
Reacting on the speculations that the PRP would join the government, the actor-turned-politician said that those were baseless and far from truth.
He said the PRP would never join the government and that it was only a media-creation.
Congratulating newly sworn in Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, he hoped that the state would witness good progress under his able and efficient leadership.
Chiranjeevi added that the PRP would react at the appropriate time over the developments in the Congress party. He added that he was of the view that a 'wait and watch policy' would best serve his party's interests.
Earlier, media circles were abuzz with the news that the PRP leader would be sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister, and the PRP would be merged with the Congress party.
