Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu will meet Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan on Monday, to seek the dismissal of tainted ministers.
Naidu, along with his party MPs and legislators, will submit a list of about a dozen ministers, seeking their dismissals from the Cabinet for their alleged involvement in corruption. Home Minister P Sabitha Indira Reddy and Roads & Buildings minister B Dharmana Prasad Rao, who have accused by the CBI in Jagan's Disproportionate Assets (DA) case, figure in the list.
While Dharmana's resignation was rejected by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy in August last year, the Cabinet did not permit the CBI to prosecute him.
Similarly, Sabitha Indira Reddy was advised against submitting her resignation after she was named as the 5th accused in the charge sheet filed by the CBI last month.
Naidu is said to insist on the dismissal of ministers who were served notices by the Supreme Court for issuing 26 controversial GOs. Further, he will reportedly request the Governor to sack ministers who were linked with the liquor scam, the hawala racket and other scams.
The Congress government in the state has been under pressure to sack the tainted ministers after the exit of Pavan Kumar Bansal and Ashwini Kumar from the central Cabinet on similar charges. (INN)
