Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday welcomed the Supreme Court's
decision of not interfering in the AP High Court's order directing the CBI to probe allegations of corruption against himself and other respondents.
Talking to media persons after participating in a
padayatra as part of the Rythu Porubata at Eeriepaka village (Jaggampeta mandal, in East Godavari district), Naidu said that he would respect the apex court's orders and cooperate with the probing agencies in their investigations.
With the apex court directions, Naidu said, TDP leaders and respondents now have the opportunity to present strong arguments through their counsel in the state High Court.
Naidu made these comments after the apex court bench refused to give a stay on a Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by TDP MP Nama Nageswara rao, Industrialist C M Ramesh and media baron Ramoji Rao.
The SLP stated that the High Court's order for a prove was against the principles of natural justice, as the respondents were not served notices and their version not heard.
Meanwhile, TDP MP Nama Nageswara Rao expressed confidence that High Court would do justice to their petition and hear their arguments within 15 days as per the apex court's direction.
Nageswara Rao alleged that Pulivendula MLA Y S Vijayamma had filed the petition in the state High Court merely with a political motive and to divert the attention of people on the ongoing CBI probe into Jagan;s properties. (INN)
