Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday vowed to continue his indefinite hunger strike until the government agreed to his demands of releasing an adequate compensation package for rain-hit farmers.
Naidu told Minister For Health D L Ravindra that he would resist all attempts by doctors to administer medicines, and would continue his fast till his demands were met.
Ravindra had earlier visited the NIMS to enquire about his health condition from the doctors. The Health Minister urged Naidu to call off his fast, and advised him to take glucose to arrest the fall of his blood sugar levels.
According to sources, the TDP chief is refusing to take any medicine at the Nizam's Institute Of Medical Sciences, where he was shifted by the police early on Monday morning.
Meanwhile, his son Lokesh Naidu and MLC Rajendra Prasad were also admitted to the NIMS for treatment of the injuries they had suffered during the lathi-charge by police at the New MLA Quarters early on Monday morning.
Naidu's wife, Bhuvaneswari Devi, also visited the NIMS, along with many other political leaders.
