Telugu Desam Party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday stated that the political atmosphere in the state was 'highly unstable', and that he expects mid-term elections any time.
Addressing a party workers' meeting at Anil Gardens in Nellore as part of his visit to district, the TDP president said that political conditions and public support was all-conducive for the TDP, and that a little more effort by party leaders and workers could take the party to power in the next elections.
He claimed that the TDP would have come to power in 2009 if it had not entered into an electoral alliance with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.
Naidu accused rebel TDP MLA Kovvur Prasanna Kumar Reddy, who had won the Assembly seat on a TDP ticket, of selling out to former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
He also said that the TDP is confident of winning all the 10 seats in Nellore district in the next elections.
On the 2nd day of his tour of Nellore district, the TDP president interacted with the party cadre, district leaders, district heads of all subsidiaries, and in-charges of the Assembly and Parliament constituencies.
Discussions were held on strengthening the party at the grass-roots level. (INN)
