Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu, on Saturday, called upon youth to protect the country from corrupt people.
Flagging off a bike rally at Excellency Gardens at Kompally, as part of Yuva Tarangalu, Naidu exhorted the youth present to take an active part in politics to prevent corruption.
"The youth must play a crucial role in liberating the state from the clutches of corrupt politicians," he said.
He said the TDP would extend total support to them in their fight against corruption.
Naidu alleged that Congress leaders were looting the state and burdening the common man by imposing heavy taxes on people.
He also remarked that the statues of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy remind people of scams, corruption and faction murders.
Stating that the cancellation of Polavaram tenders by the government was a TDP victory, he said his party would not bow down to the threats of the TRS, adding that it would teach the TRS a "fitting lesson" at an appropriate time.
Naidu said he was never opposed to a Telangana state, and claimed that KCR would have been on TDP's platform if he was given a Cabinet berth during TDP's regime.
The TDP president said that the development of Telangana took place during his party's regime, and challenged the Congress party to an open debate in this regard. (INN)
