On the concluding day of three-day Mahanadu at the Andhra University Engineering College campus on the banks of the Visakhapatnam beach, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu was elected again as the national president of the Telugu Desam Party for a second consecutive term.
Party convener Peddi Reddy announced that Naidu had been elected unopposed in the elections conducted on the dais. Instantly leaders and activists came in large numbers to greet Naidu even as the venue reverberated with much enthusiasm and slogans in praise of the leader.
Naidu took oath as the party national chief, and reiterated that he would strive hard for the all-round development and inclusive growth of the state. He said that efforts would be made for the development of farmers, farm labourers, artisans, community professions, BCs, minorities, women, children, dalits and other sections.
The TDP national chief also said that he would make efforts to transform Andhra Pradesh into an ideal, knowledgeable and wealthy state.
