Telugu Desam Party President N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday forced the cancellation of a function meant to felicitate the partymen who got elected to the Telangana Assembly.
Originally, TDP MLAs L Ramana and Errabelli Dayakar Rao planned to organise a felicitation for the party's MLAs in the region. They also met Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday to get his nod for the event.
However, Naidu reportedly received complaints from a few leaders who had objected to the felicitation of winners. They said that it would send a wrong message to those who lost the elections.
Therefore, Naidu directed Ramana and Rao to cancel the function, before he left for Tirupati on Monday.
It may be mentioned that the TDP won 15 Assembly seats and 1 Lok Sabha (Malkajgiri) seat in Telangana, in the recently concluded elections. (INN)
